I know what month it is. Its February. but here in the mountains of western North Carolina it feels like Spring, and I mean late Spring. It was 60 degrees here yesterday. So, all things considered…….. I’m thinking Spring.
For a few reasons.
Number one, we were really late taking our Christmas decorations down. We were in Atlanta two weekends in a row (because we are winning!!!) for the whole weekend. Second, We got lazy. We’d been running the roads up and down I85 and we just wanted a weekend to be lazy, and we took one. I’m sure the neighbors were talking about us. We still had all trees lit as well as our outside lights and decorations.
It is what it is.
Reason #3 caused me to really turn the wick up on Spring. I’ll get to reason #3 in a bit. So I really didn’t transition our home much from Christmas Decor to Winter Decor. In a few instances I went straight to hints of Spring.
Tulips make everything feel like Spring, don’t they?
I had these tucked in storage. Good thing I ran across them. They make me smile every time I walk through the dining room!
I moved the side tables around in our living room to make room (short term) for that navy French Provincial chest, even though I won’t be keeping the pretty thing.
The drum table was relocated to beside our couch.
And I really like it there!
I may leave it 🙂
I have also been working on a new piece of furniture, probably the largest piece I’ve ever painted. I’m completely finished with the paint, I’m just waiting on hardware.
Let me rephrase that.
I’m just waiting on more hardware.
I ordered the first set of hardware off Etsy. It came from China and took two weeks to get here. I have no idea what I was thinking since I’m the most impatient thing you’ve ever met. So last Saturday it arrived and I ran out to our mailbox (in my feet pajamas), grabbed it and flew back in the house. In the insanity to find longer screws that ensued, I LOST one of the pulls!!! Did I mention that they came from China and took two weeks to get here?
So, until I either find the missing pull or the new ones show up, here are a few photos of the styled piece.
Score one for the Dingbat…….again.
I made these speckled eggs last Spring. I love them! I made like three dozen in all different shades of blue. You can find the entire post here:
Back to Reason to go straight to Spring #3.
I have been invited to be a vendor at Vintage Market Days Asheville!!!. Honestly, I can not believe it! Sweeten Creek Antiques, where I have my little shop is a sponsor of this destination event and they have selected a few people from the store to participate. I have to tell y’all, I am loosing my mind with excitement ……… and some fear. Since I have almost nothing in the way of larger furniture pieces stockpiled, Ive been on the hunt like crazy. The Gods Of Furniture Picking must be smiling on me because over the past three weeks I have not only found really good pieces, Ive also fount them at reasonable prices!
Can I get an Amen?
So get ready for the furniture makeovers, because they will definitely be coming y’all’s way!
Have a great week ahead!
Paige

I’m ready for spring too. It’s been in the upper 70s all week and we have jonquils blooming already.
