It is a well known fact that I am a painter and dealer of furniture. It is also a well known fact that I am a Tightwad. And not in a bad way. I really detest ‘Throwing Money” at anything. Why? well, for two reason.
1. I don’t like wasting money.
2. There in no sport in it. What fun would that be?
When I’m taking a piece of castoff, junk , sometimes other people’s trash furniture and making it into something lovely and useful, the point of the whole thing is to recycle/repurpose/ reuse. Not spend a GOB of $$$. If you spend a GOB of $$$ and then try to get that GOB of money back and make a profit, you are in the hole from jump.
Get me?
So I have made a point of tracking down the best sources for hardware (mainly drawer pulls) in my own budget. Today I’m sharing them with you. If you’ve done this for a while you may already know this stuff. I always have to learn the hard way. I ferreted them out for myself.
#1 D. Lawless Hardware
http://www.dlawlesshardware.com
I’m here to tell you that you will not find any better prices or selection on pulls that this site.
$1.77 each
I was thrilled when I opened the package. They feel exactly like I wanted them to feel: Nice and substantial! D. Lawlwess Hardware has bail pulls (my favorite) for as little as $.99. The shipping charge is $10.50 up t0 $50, after that, its free. Don’t take my word for it. Go check them out yourself.
#2. Amazon
https://www.amazon.com
You can get anything on Amazon. I’m of a mind you could probably buy a live tiger on Amazon. I’ve found great, affordable pulls on Amazon plus often times they sell them in bulk.
I purchased a box of ten of these antique brass fixed bail pulls for $19.20. with $6 for shipping. So at $1.92 each I’m a happy girl. I’ve seen lots of hardware that was eligible for Amazon Prime so the shipping would be free. Plus I loved how the pulls look on this dark gray paint 🙂
#3. Hobby Lobby
This is not a secret. The knob selection alone at HL blows the my mind. Plus most of the time they are 50% off. Thats never gonna suck. I have found some pulls there , mostly cool cast iron ones but knobs are the deal & selection of the day at HL.
Heavy, BIG cast iron knobs with backplates for $2.50!
#4. PullsDirect.com
https://www.pullsdirect.com/elements-ch3503-kingsport-3-1-2-inch-center-to-center-drop-cabinet-pull/p1882216?uid=1882216
I shared my Coastal Blue French Provincial chest yesterday. I found these pulls at PullsDirect.com and it was a hard choice. PullsDirect had A LOT both in my size and budget. These pulls were $4.56 each plus free shipping.
#5. Home Depot
Here’s a few photos of what Home Depot has to offer.
Here’s the best part. If you ship it to the store, shipping is FREE! And they ship fast, too. I used the cup pull in this last image on this:
I hope this will save y’all some time, frustration and al little bit of money!
