Today I spent some time tidying up or guest room and adding a few simple Christmas touches.
And Emmitt and I had so much FUN!
Here is a photo of what our guest room looked like before I got hold of it this morning:
It is important to note at this point that I only used stuff I already had chipmunked away in our linen closet and up in the attic with our Christmas decorations.
It’s important because
I’m admitting the degree of my
Textile Hoard.
To me, pillow covers and shams are good investments.
It’s way less expensive that purchasing an entire set of bedding and much easier to store. The mattelasse shams match the coverlet on the bed. The black and white toile shams were made my my Mama. The black micro check is Waverly and I got it way Goodwill for $2.
The white linen pillow is from Ikea and they are all over Blogland! Everybody and their Mama has one. The red snowflake pillow was a gift from my Mother in law last Christmas.
It came from Kohls and I just love it!
I traded the Duck Egg lamp on the bedside table for a dark brown one and then I went to work adding a few Christmas accessories.
The picture was our Christmas card two years ago. I enjoy displaying Christmas pictures from years past during the Season. I chose a red antique book and a navy vintage one to add height and color to the arrangement.
And of course a piece or two from my silver collection.
The chair in our guest room was the very first piece of furniture I ever bought myself.
I was a teenager. I dont think I was even old enough to drive. It has been three different colors over the years, one was a raspberry Damask!
I kept walking in to this room all day long. I’m really enjoying the black and white with a little Christmas red!
Thanks for stopping by and seeing our Christmas guest room. I’ll write a tutorial about the way I did these prints that I switched up for the Season in a few days. It’s an easy way to bring a bit of Christmas in to any room of your home!
Have a great weekend!
