Alas, my Habitat gift card is all gone.
Oooooh, how it pains me to type that.
I spent the very last bit of it about ten days ago. I still have three nice sized pieces of furniture out in the Hell Hole that I got at Habitat still patiently waiting in line.
So I can’t feel too bad.
OK people, let me present our victims for today:
$3 each.
Straight up my alley.
These were an experiment for me and at $6 I was fine with risking it. Now, I have painted close to 40 lamps with chalk paint, but zero with milk paint. Well, General Finishes milk paint ain’t like any other milk paint that I’ve ever tried. In my opinion it behaves more like a chalk paint. It sticks to ANYTHING and it levels perfectly, with minimal brush strokes.
The results of my experiment?

It took three coats of Lamp Black to get the coverage I was after. This paint dries slower than chalk paints that I’ve tried and I made really sure that I let it dry thoroughly between coats. That frustrates me, Miss Get It Done. I was positively worth it!
This magnolia print is part of a pair that I found also at Habitat for $15 each.
We are both enjoying the Fall vignette these new finds and a couple of pumpkins have created in the eating area of our kitchen!
I can’t tell y’all how much I’m loving this dresser in our kitchen! It was a good decision for the storage alone. It also functions as a server but I just love being able to display pretty things here as well as the lamps. They are nice to leave on so we don’t walk in to a dark kitchen when we come home after dark.
So many varieties of Heirloom pumpkins.
