Sometimes I just want to change something in our home and not have to leave the house to do it. Sometimes I want new decor right then WITHOUT getting dressed. I just want to stay in my feety pajamas.
Is that wrong?
If it is, I’m wrong a lot.
Well this morning was that kinda day.
I was sitting out on my front porch at 6:35 this morning drinking my coffee and I really wasn’t feeling the hydrangea wreath that I’d had on our front door for two Summers. I had to leave the house later in the day so I really didn’t want to spend any extra time running around trying to find a new something that might or might not look cute on my front door.
So I went out to the Hell Hole (our garage) in my feeties, coffee mug in hand, to scrounge.
I’d picked the basket up at Goodwill a while back for a whopping $1. Now I see these door baskets in the Goodwills ALL the time. I actually grabbed this one in the Spring to use in my shop and forgot all about it. I’d seen tons of examples on Pinterest of these door baskets and it did look like a pretty cool idea.
So I got to work.
The first thing I did was tear that hydrangea wreath apart.
Our front porch is covered so these flowers were in great shape, not at all faded. I had cut the stems pretty short for the wreath so I used several plastic grocery bags as filler for the bottom of the basket.
I poked the flowers all around the edges of the basket and then filled up the center. This took all of five minutes.
My coffee didn’t even get cold.
This is my kinda project !
I can not wait to fill this thing with evergreens at Christmas!

Five minutes
Big smile on my face when I got home from the grocery store 🙂

Now THAT is my kind of project! I do stuff like that all the time…so glad I'm not the only one that get an idea to re-use something to make something "new"; also glad I'm not the only one that uses plastic grocery bags as "fillers"! Thanks for making feel…"normal" LOL ! Love the door basket!

Hi Paige, I'm Anne from Birdsong Bits and Pieces (https://birdsongbitsandpieces.blogspot.com), and I found you from the Feathered Nest link up. I love your door decor. Partly because I love hydrangeas. Partly because I love anything for a dollar. And partly bc I'm partial to pi's and coffee myself, lol! Anyway, nice to "meet " you. Love to have you stop by my blog to say hello sometime!
