I find brand new stuff at Thriftstores all the time. More at Goodwill than anywhere else. And it’s almost always from Target. I think they donate their returns rather than restock them, or something. So Thursday night I was out digging in the garage (Hell Hole) in a valiant effort to work through everything I’ve been chipmunking out there for a good six months and organizing all of the finished projects that Big Daddy had offered to haul down to my shop Friday evening :). I very carefully inspected each piece, priced and packed it all for the haul. In the process of doing this I unearthed a couple of things (OK more like 5) that I’d forgotten I even had.
This little lamp was one of those.
Brand new oil rubbed bronze with a snazzy chocolate shade. The $4 price tag was still on it.
Who in their right mind would pass up a $4 lamp and shade?
But brown on brown wasn’t doing a thing for it or me, fankly. So I went to town on it with some chalk paint
And a fine grit sanding sponge.
Messy stuff but well worth it 🙂
After I wiped the whole lamp base with a damp cloth, I finished it off with clear wax.
Now the after
Behold my brown bottle collection, most of them were gifts from my sweet Man. Once again, he really knows his girl!
Now it looks like it belongs here.
Have a great June weekend!
Paige
