Big Daddy and I were at The Mother Of All Church Rummage Sales yesterday. He found his self an antique cast iron pan,
and I found these
I could just barely see about a half inch of a saucer sticking up in a cardboard box under a table, but I knew exactly what I was looking at. My Mama was a BIG Red Transferware collector so I can sence a disturbance in the force when it’s in my AO. We have spent countless hours together hunting high and low for the stuff. The wall above her big antique oak bed I covered in it.
The box had $3 written on it in black Sharpie. Frankly, that was enough for me. I was in such a state I didn’t even bother to unwrap the rest of the box.
As I went through table after table of dishes, glassware and coffee mugs I found the large, perfect platter for $5.
That’s $8 so far if you are keeping track.
Next, also under another table taped together were two teacups and four saucers for another $3!
When I got home and unwrapped the stuff in the $3 box it contained 4 dinner plates, four saucers and three more teacups all of which were Blue Willow. In the bottom of that box was a bonus.
And a sweet little teacup
The best part of all this?
The unbelievably sweet memories that were brought back of my Mama 🙂
Happy Mother’s Day

So happy for you to have found all that transfer ware and for such incredible prices. Those dishes were waiting for you to come along to buy them, had your name on them, so enjoy them whenever you use them. They look really pretty on your table.
I especially love pattern you showed at end. When we lived in Ky were several antique/vintage stores which sold transfer ware in several colors. At that time didn't buy any but sure wish I had, there's regret again. Where I'd put them who knows as we have much smaller home now than we did in KY.
I ended up having to sell nice furniture also as again our house we live in now is smaller than house in KY.
We live few miles west of Grand Junction, CO now, two of our kids live fairly close. Enjoy weekend coming up
