This particular addition of the $10 Yard Sale Challange should be called
The White Edition
I’ve said this many times before and I will say it again. My absolute favorite kinda yard sale is a church rummage sale. It’s always the most bang for your buck. And this one at the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville was no exception. I got there early and had to stand in line for about 15 minutes but it was well worth it. Incidentally, it has been my experience that if I have to stand in line at a rummage or yard sale, it is going to be a GOOD ONE!
1.
Pair of white china lamps
with hobnail detail
$2 each
Oh. My.
I can not wait for Big Daddy to rewire these so I can put them in our bedroom! All I need is the right shades. And for once I will not be painting them.
2.
Antique brown Transferware platter
Also $2
This was the ‘Totally Unrealistic Paranoia’ piece of the day. By that I mean the one piece I grab and won’t let go of until I pay for it and put it in my car. I am a Transferware nut! I own quite a pile of it and I’m here to tell you I almost NEVER see it in brown.
3.
White Soup Tureen
$2
Love this little guy!
I actually already have the footed soup bowls that match this, including the lion’s head.
And lastly
4.
English Ironstone gravy boat
$1
Johnson Brothers
This will see a lot of use at my house. I just love the details!
See what I mean about white?
And not a chip to be found in any of them 🙂
Have a great weekend

Great finds, Paige! I really like the hobnail lamps, but that Grindley platter is my favorite. My guess is that it was made in June 1891…I am basing that on the 69160 in the numbers on the backstamp, can't remember what the last 2 numbers stand for.
Have a great weekend.

You scored some terrific items. I agree that church or condo rummage sales are the best.
