We have this Empire library table in our living room that I absolutely LOVE. I got it at an auction almost 25 years ago for nothing (I’m thinking it was under twenty bucks) because it was a wreck. It sat at my Mama’s for a while. Then the spirit moved her one day and she striped it for me.
I think the only finish I used back then was tung oil. Now this thing has been in our current house for almost 16 years.
And the top has definitely seen better days.
You see?
When we have people over for dinner this is where I serve hors d’oeuvres. So by nature, LOTS of drinks get set down here. I’ve been meaning to sand the top of this library down and refinish it but it was never a priority with me. I could not tell y’all why.
So as I’m prone to do, I decided to try something I found on the Internet. All I can say is God bless who ever invented Google.
I mean good as new! All I did was put a few drops of Miss Mustard Seed hemp oil on a paper towel and applied it to the water ring ONLY. After it had time to dry thoroughly I put rubbed a good coat of the hemp oil I’ve the entire top.
Then on the entire piece!
It is amazing stuff!
You’re welcome.
Now if y’all will excuse me, I’ve got a lot of tables to fix.
