First of all, I’d like to thank y’all so much for all of the sweet, kind comments about my table. They made me smile and really touched my heart! That table turned out to be a truly special piece for me. Big Daddy helped me move it on in to my shop on Sunday afternoon.
I had a GREAT time styling it!
I’ve been chipmunking (one of my all time favorite words!!!) all sorts of tableware, mostly in blues and greens, since November with Spring on my mind and this was the perfect opportunity to display it all.
I made a completely new batch of pillows (mostly lumbars, they sell the quickest) and I also sewed several table runners. Simple, straight line sewing. That’s all I’m good for. I chose to use a blue ticking striped runner that I made on this table. I’ve made and sold LOTS of burlap runners and they really sell well also.
I sold two BIG pieces of furniture last week and I was really thankful that I had another large piece already in my garage to fill in the holes in my little shop. I owe both of those sales to Big Daddy. Figuratively, of course.
Good thing he does not expect a commission. But it was his idea to place ads for ALL of my big pieces of furniture on Craigslist. He looked at me and said, ‘Two words Paigey.
FREE ADVERTSING.’
I never claimed to be the sharpest knife in the drawer.
I placed a seperate ad for each of my furniture pieces with the antiques store’s address and my booth number only. I did this for one reason. I don’t have to field any emails or questions. I made sure to include several good pictures and a good description of the piece as well as it’s measurements.
Worked like a charm 🙂
One more piece of advice from me, for what it’s worth: Be VERY particular about your Smalls. Do some research on what’s trending (I use Pintetest) in terms of home decor and accessories. Then when you are out on the hunt see what you can find with a similar vibe. More importantly, look for Smalls that you can rework with paint.
Here are the best example (lately anyway) I can think of:
Each of these examples of what a dab of paint will do were $3 or LESS.
See what I mean
Have a great week!

Going to have to swing by and take a look at Charlie's momma's table because it looks amazing! Love the green toile pillow as well and just started decorating my porches today for warmer weather so just might need to add that pillow.
