I had unusually good luck this weekend in the furniture picking department. Big Daddy and I actually found a moving sale near our neigjborhood and I also made my rounds at all my favorite Thriftstores. I had been on somewhat of a dry spell recently so this was a nice change of pace. I was really craving some Paint Therapy!
Here’s one of my finds:
$5?
That’s going home with me, thank you.
It’s a darling little table ! It’s perfect for beside a smaller chair or even on a porch. I dug through my paint stash and way in the back I found a pot of aqua paint I had custom mixed back in the Summer and I had just enough for table.
I call this custom color Sea Glass. It came to be when I mixed together three Americana Decor chalk paints. I used Treasure, Primative and New life to create to me , what is the perfect Aqua.
You might remember, I’ve used it here :

And now on the little table
After two coats of the Sea Glass paint I added a coat of clear wax and then, not allowing the clear wax to dry, I applied the dark wax (pretty sparingly). I just didn’t want to totally change or overwhelm the color.
I was in Publix over the weekend and I could not pass up a bag of these!
I had a little furry helper while I was shooting these pictures today.
We are off to take a nap now.
Don’t be hatin’ on us.

i am more than slightly obsessed with the area rug, lol. it looks very much/exactly like one i've wanted for years but haven't been able to find. on my screen, it appears very sage-oriented, which is what i want. is that close? and would you mind telling me the brand, style name/number or where you got it? i first saw it in a legal office years ago, but couldn't check it out. i've also seen one like it in the Home Decorators Collection catalog/website, and a few other places, but could never be sure it was the right one. depending on the site or computer screen, it would look more teal or blue or some other tone than i wanted, or would have too much red/maroon in the pattern. any help you can offer would be much appreciated. thanks for your time. –suz in ohio

Great find! I love how it turned out! I'm having a bit of a dry spell when it comes to great finds lately too. Maybe that's God telling me to stop hoarding for a while! ha ha! Your little assistant is so sweet, yet so serious looking… obviously does a great job! I hope you have a great weekend! Thank you for taking part in Making Broken Beautiful this week! Always a pleasure to have you!
Smiles!

Love the color and what a great find! Little tables like this are hard to come by, at least at the thrift stores I frequent. A perfect size for a cup of tea while reading a good book!
