I love Winter.
My Mama used to say, ‘You are the weirdest child’.
But I just love the cobalt blue of a February evening sky. It is absolutely stunning to me. I love to look out at the silver sea of bare tree trunks in my woods. And ooooooh, the smell of snow coming.
I keep my home differently in the Winter. I put different sheets and blankets on our bed, something heavier, something you can really borrow down in to. The candles I burn are winter scents, Fraser Fir, spice and sandalwood. We cook differently. We make soups and chillis and have ‘Breakfast For Dinner ‘ more often. And six year olds don’t get as excited as we do when the forecast calls for snow!
A few day ago we took down all of our Christmas decorations and it was nice to have the house back to normal but I missed all the lights and garland. I really missed walking through our dining room and looking at a lovely set table.
Yesturday I was out running errands and stuck my head in Michaels looking for a frame. When I became hopelessly indecisive on the frame aisle and headed out of the store empy armed, I passed the then 70% Christmas aisle. Now, I am not much for After Christmas Sale shopping mostly because we get WAY more than we deserve at Christmas. Also, when all my stuff is packed away in the attic. I’m just done.
Then I came across these
for 70% off, making them $1.49 each!
I walked out of the store with eight of them. Today they are 80% off, making them almost Free. Oh well , I jumped in when I was comfortable.
Regardless, I love them to pieces!
So I played with new toys to create a table for Winter.
I found a ton of these pinecones under a Cedar tree down in Biltmore Village a couple of days ago and filled a bag full.
I asked first.
They looked at me like I was a nut.
They came in pretty handy today!
Big Daddy walked through as I was whirling around the room and just looked at me. God bless him, he knows by now just to keep walking.
I pretty please with these sweet little sweater plates .
I did leave one Wintery touch out on the front porch to enjoy for a little while longer.
Stay warm & cozy,
Paige

I love your sweater plates. Great purchase! I am ini the process of packing up our Christmas decorations. I packed six trees yesterday and have two left today (fingers crossed!). I have already decided to decorate for winter even though we don't have much of a winter here in Houston. I can pretend, right?

Beautiful plates, Paige! I've taken down my porch tree [too many cats inside] and left the greens, glimmer lights, and sled for winter. Hate to take it all down. 🙁

LOVE your tablescape! What a deal on those sweater plates and you've used them wonderfully – the pine cones are the perfect simple accessory for a January table and the centerpiece looks terrific with the antler sheds. Going back to pin!

Great find! I love your beautiful table setting. The pine cones and silver make feel rustic and polished at the same time.
