For the record, I do not get the Winter Blahs.
I love Winter!
It’s my favorite season. I love the solitude of it. We stay home, cook comfort food and watch movies in our feety pajamas. We settle in for our Long Winter’s Nap.
After Christmas I do get the urge to re-arrange things a little. OK, I get the urge all the time. Christmas has nothing to do with it, if I’m being honest.
So Friday, after I did my housework I played a little just to change things up a bit!
I started with the livingroom.
I just love the way mercury glass shimmers!
Just a few simple changes for our Winter mantel. The big D sign was made by Jayme at The Fox Peddler and I LOVE it. You can find all of her beautiful work here:

I probably burn more candles in the Winter months, and I’m pretty particular about the scents. This candle was a Christmas gift from our nephew and his wife. I’m really enjoying the way it smells, just clean and fresh.
After I gave my kitchen a really good scrub I roamed around the house on the hunt for things that I don’t normally display in this room. Then I corralled them all in one spot and began to swap them out for the stuff I was tired of.
Nothing like shopping you own house!
A dear friend brought me a gift on Christmas Eve in this darling burlap bag. I loved the gift and am now obsessed with the bag!
Go figure.
When I did my weekly grocery shopping I brought home some fresh flowers and greenery. Fresh Hydrangea in the house is like an instant refresh anyway.
Seeded eucalyptus lasts a really long time and I love it’s blue/green color.
I change this little frame out Seasonally. The bird egg print is an Etsy find.
Just a few small changes. Nothing major, but walking through the house it feels big. Except for the flowers I had everything else already on hand.
Not bad at all for an hours work.

Everything looks great! I, too, am always moving things around…shopping our home. It is such an amazing feeling knowing you can come up with different looks without breaking the bank!

You and I are doing the same things lately! Doesn't it feel great? 🙂
I'm off to get my fresh flowers today. Usually I've already started buying them by this point in the winter but I haven't yet this year. I hope to find some as pretty as your hydrangeas.
I love the way you moved things around and your little gift bag is so perfect!

I LOVE shopping the house and changing things up on the cheap! Your vignettes are lovely! I especially love the fish bottle…I used to have one of those that I used to dispense my dish soap in the kitchen…Thanks for sharing – have a great week!

Just found your blog through Up to Date Interiors link party and I love your style! We don't get too much "winter" here in San Diego, but I love adding decor to make me think we do!! 🙂

I'm in love – big time! – with the desk at the beginning of your blog – white w/stained top! I like the monogrammed wall plaque too! Great job.
