Note to self:
Never Milk Paint in the house.
Just a friendly piece of advise from your friend Paige.
Last Friday I was headed toward Brevard, North Carolina at 6:15 in the morning . On my day off. Why, in the name of God would I do this? Well, it was the annual Methodist Church’s rummage sale! I went last year and hit the Mother load. And this year did not disappoint !
I came home with my Jeep stacked to the headliner, but this was my absolute favorite.
Old, and handmade .
I felt like I should keep with the era of this table and use an old fashioned paint. So I began to search through the Painted Furniture Database.
Also know as Pinterest.
This was my inspiration piece

I mixed up a custom milk paint color using Miss Mustardseed paints in Eulalies Sky, Luckett’s Green and Artissimo.
And I got a lovely turquoise ! I painted the legs and apron of the table in two coats of this custom mixed color and left the kitchen for about thirty minuets, I swear.
Boy, did this one chip.
All over my kitchen floor.
I think it’s perfect.
It was a big mess to clean up though.
Lesson learned.
Here’s the finished product.
I did sand the top down and gave it only a good coat of Annie Sloan dark wax.
The table had a hole where a drawer used to be so I used it to my advantage.
I sealed the finish with hemp oil and when it dried the chipping stopped.
Today I moved a Jeep load into my shop snd this was among the things I took. I spent the afternoon flipping my shop for Christmas.
Here’s a peek!
Have a great weekend,
Paige

Beautiful table!!! Love it the custom color. What did you price this? I just opened a booth yesterday and my biggest struggle has been pricing things. Thanks for your input!
Paige says
My best advice to you is just walk through you shop and see what others are going for. I priced this one at $185.
