Big Daddy and I have been so incredibly fortunate in our lives in many respects. Just one of those respects is the wonderful friends we’ve made and kept over the years. Some we see all the time. Some we don’t see for lengths of time but when we get together we pick up right where we last left off. To me, those are the kinds of friends to have.
Back in August I had a stellar yard sale day on a Friday of all days and managed to drag home three great larger-sized pieces of furniture to paint. One of my better scores I must say.
I got a maple desk
A large drum table which is still in my living room.
I know.
I’m getting high on my own supply.
And this:
You know damn well I was NEVER walking away from those legs, right?
This is one substantial console table. It’s probably one of the nicest and most well made pieces I’ve ever drug home. So I was having a bit of guilt about painting it and at a moment of weakness I did something I NEVER do. I offered it up on Facebook as a custom piece. Within minutes of the post I began to have ever so slight stomach pains. What was I thinking??? There is sooooo the reason why I don’t do custom. I’m not made for it! I freak out under the pressure.
Thank the Lord two longtime friends responded. The one who accepted my terms chose black as her color and also did not want me to touch that very shiny (and probably veneer) top.
So here’s how it came out
Come to find out it matches the dining room furniture she already owns.
So we were both happy!
Oh. Those. Legs.
It’s pouring the rain here right now and all I can think is all of our beautiful Autumn leaves will be gone by morning. I’ll leave you with these that I saw over the weekend.

Here's to long lost friends, laughing so much that your jawbones literally hurt, and six hours of time flying by like the four of you never skipped a beat. And here's to a beautiful console table in the hands of a craftsman who still doesn't fully know how very talented and instinctive she is in bringing out the beauty in pieces that others have discarded. I can't wait to bring it home tomorrow!❤️ Love you dear friend!

Fabulous legs on that console! You did a wonderful job with the transformation. I also appreciate your autumn leaves. I saw your link at Courtney's Feathered Nest Friday party.
