I’m
Although I don’t know what I will do in January and February, I’m really enjoying doing this particular post monthly. It’s fun for me!
I know, I’m crazy like that.
So, two weeks ago I found out that I would be moving my work into my own booth at a popular local Antiques shop. This exact challenge was not specificly on my mind. What was specificly on my mind was my glaringly obvious lack of ‘Smalls’. I had plenty of larger furniture pieces to fill my 10 x 10 space, but very few small items to ‘fill in’ the space. Now to me, the ‘Smalls’ are what doll up the space. So I needed to get busy. Correction.
I needed to get busy, go to Mexico for six days and then get busier. Lord, I was crazy to put myself in that time crunch to begin with!
So here’s how I spent this month’s $10.
#1.
This gorgeous silver gravy boat
$2
If I’m being honest, this ain’t leaving my house. It had me at the handle!
And it goes so well with oak leaves and white pumpkins, of which we have plenty!
#2.
Deer antlers
Now, this is gonna kill ya.
$2
I kid you not.
Or as Big a Daddy says,
‘Im crapping you negative.’
Also, going nowhere.
#3 & #4
Two Lamp bases
This one was $4 and started out as a quite beatup bronze. So after two coats of Old White and a cute shade I already had this is what it looks like now!
Just a little bit of distressing.
The second was a yellowish / gold when I picked it up but I lived the barley twist style.
$2
Both of these lamps are going in my booth but this one is already there .
Love that base!
Not bad for a ten spot.

Since we have been married for 43 years and have given each other many anniversary gifts we have started a $5. flea market challenge for our gifts to each other. He always comes up with nice things for me but I must have been out of my mind. He is so hard to buy for anyway at any price. This year he got a Florida souvinir of a toad couple sitting under a shell toadstool. Both are wearing funny hats. I changed the Forida sign to an anniversary message. While it was not something he would have wanted, it sure was unexpected. As soon as he saw it he laughed and laughed! I count that as a win for me.

Paige,
just found you at the Scoop party. You got some amazing things for CHEAP!. You shop like I shop! That little creamer is gorgeous, I couldn't give it up either! I have never seen antlers that inexpensive, what a deal! I also like to find lamp bases with great shapes and repaint them. Beats paying $40, $50.00 on up! Have enjoyed browsing thru your posts. Would love for you to visit me! Congratulations on your new space, you're gonna a have a lot of fun with it!
