Over Labor Day weekend we were up in Cleveland Ohio for Big Daddy’s birthday. We stayed at a very cool hotel right downtown on Euclid avenue near Playhouse Square. We walked EVERYWHERE! We walked our butts off. So on Sunday morning we were walking down to the Wyndham Hotel for brunch and just taking in all the architecture of the cool old buildings when we saw this.
OMG!
This is the prettiest grocery store I’ve EVER seen in my life. Heinen’s grocery is in a an old bank building on Euclid avenue.
The first ‘floor’, so to speak is the actual. ‘Grocery ‘ part of this store. Then you walk up about three little steps to this:
It’s pretty much a restaurant, with seafood, cheese, salads, entrees, you name it. You just walk up to each counter and order what you’d like.
And then you look up.
It is simply gorgeous!
The wrought iron alone is worth a trip in the door.
The entire third floor is a painting in the round.
But the second floor was Best In Show.
Especially if you are a wine lover!
Um. These are wine taps.
About five banks of them.
God bless whoever invented these . Unfortunately, it was ten in the morning so we didn’t get to try them. In the small cold cases by the wine were small containers of meat, cheese and fruit for sale to go with!
And craft beer
If you have these grocery stores in your town, I am sooooo jealous. I’m sure they are only in northern states. And that is a big, fat bummer.
Have a great week, wherever y’all are,
Paige

I'm astonished. The building is beautiful and quite useful. Those wine taps crack me up. What a delightful establishment. I'd love to shop there . . . and eat . . . and drink.

Wow, what a beautiful place to shop or stop or live LOL The dome window is breath-taking. And the menu for the restaurant looks yummy. Will be on my list if I ever visit Cleveland, Ohio. Thanks for taking us grocery shopping with you.

Just visiting from "Wow Us Wednesday". . .Glad you enjoyed yourself while in Cleveland! The Heinen's store is a favorite here, and those of us who work/live downtown are thrilled that they opened a place in the old AmeriTrust building. By the time the RNC rolls into town next summer, we expect our city to truly sparkle. You'll have to come back again and visit our cultural heart (University Circle). It's absolutely beautiful! Have a great day!
