There is a very cool blog I visit quite often.

A month or so ago one of her posts got my attention quick. The entire post was about thrifting. In particular, she had allowed herself $40 to spend in various thrift shops and she documented it all in pictures. This really got my gears to turning and then, as I am prone to do, I went on to something else. I know. I’ve seen me do it!
So Saturday, quite by accident I went out to wash my car late morning and as (my ) luck would have it I must have passes no less than five yard sales on my road alone! Also as (my) luck would have it, I had ten bucks in my purse. But on my way back home from the car wash I could not stand it.
I drove by the first two. Their driveways were in plain view of the street and I did not see any furniture. The next one I actually got out of my Jeep, but found nothing interesting.
The last one was where I hit the jackpot.
I know. What in the world kinda jackpot can you hit for $10?
The kind where it’s almost noon on a Saturday and BLAZING hot in Asheville North Carolina. They were so ready to through in the towel!!!

Next I spotted this tucked back behind some deck furniture.
I guess it’s a garden stool. Big Daddy thinks it came from a chicken coop.
I think it’s cool, where ever it came from!

So that’s my $10 yardsale challenge.

Great items at unbelievably wonderful prices!! I don't have the same sort of story to tell but I thought I would tell you what my husband and I do for our anniversary. Two years ago I thought it might be fun if we each bought each other our anniversary presents from the flea market. To make it challenging we set the limit at $5. What was I thinking when I agreed to that price. He is the harderst person to buy for and finding a gift that he would like is difficult at any cost. Both years he has found me cute romantic presents and both years I have bombed big time. I think I will cheat and start looking now and not wait untill October! Wish me luck for this year!!!
