We had a TON of stuff going on last weekend!
Besides Father’s Day, we picnicked, had dinner by the pool at our dear friend’s house and basically burned the candle at both ends.
In other words, a very typical Summer weekend for the Davises.
There were NO good yard sales to go to near my neighborhood which was great because I had zero time to spend on them but I did poke my head in our Goodwill for about five minutes and found this:
I think I’m developing a Night Table problem.
Add that to the list.
I really wish I could find them in pairs though.
This thing must have been used in someone’s guest room because it is perfect. The drawers are clean and it has no smell at all.
I just love the hardware!
The other night tables I’ve dragged home always seem to have those Early American brass pulls so these are a very nice change!
I’ve been working a couple of plans in my head for a while now. One involves my front porch. I’m really not overly thrilled with it this Summer and I would like better, more comfortable seating.
And an ottoman.
So I began to think about using this small set of drawers out there. My friend Donna (the one with that pool!) got my gears spinning with her use of turquoise and a red-boarding-on-orange in her poolside decor.
Then, I saw this
So here’s where I’m going with this
Lord, I do love this color!
So I came home from my Day Job and flew in on this piece in the middle of the kitchen floor like a Wild Woman.
Little Emmitt did his absolute best to help.
Every single one of us in this house have green eyes! My Mother in law pointed that out to me recently. I think Emmie’s are the prettiest.
I’ve seen numbers added to painted furniture all over Blogland for some time now and I’ve been meaning to try it but just haven’t found any particular piece that I thought was right for the project. I bought the number stencil several months ago and then forgot where I had stored it.
I finally remembered!
Next I went out to the Rat Hole (our garage) and got some fine sandpaper.
I REALLY went at it hard.
If this is going on my porch I do not want it looking too perfect.
After A good coat is Annie Sloan clear wax, here it is!
I’m happy!
On with my plan!
Hope y’all are having a great week
Paige

I am a little obsessed with night tables, too. And all the best ones are just sitting by themselves looking lonely lol. This is a fantastic transformation! Love that color. Featuring you on our weekend features post with a link back and a pin to our Inspired by You Page on Pinterest.

This is so pretty. I love how you stenciled the numbers on it. And what can I say about your model as I love any kitty who likes to model.
