It has been a VERY busy few weeks around Casa del Davis! We have been diligently working on and cleaning OUT this house in preparation for putting it on the market. Lawd! Where in the world did all this crap come from??? I have seriously lost count of how many Jeep loads I have dropped off at SA & GW. Oh, how I wish I had kept better track of that. Maybe it would deter us from future HOARDING!
So a few cool things have happened around here the past few days.
Remember this?
Well, now it looks like this!
I went with Amy Howard black, and I LOVED it . . . Untill I saw the exact same desk on the Urban Rooster Chalk Paint website in a gorgeous navy.
Yeah, I’m thinking about it.
Not about Urban Rooster , there is no dealer anywhere near me. But, Amy Howard has a new color called Lady Sings at the Blues!
Oh My!
This is still what I’m thinking about doing with it though
The $10 Craig’s List find!
For some reason I’ve had Gray in my crazy little head since I was driving home with it in my Jeep. So last night I began to paint it!
And here’s where I’m at.
I love the shade, it is a mix of the Relic I used on the pineapple lamp, and Country Grey. I think it will distress well with the dark of the original stain underneath and we will sand and refinish the pretty top.
I also got a fun package in the mail this week.
How precious is this packaging, I ask you?
It’s a Milk Paint, which I am DEATHLY afraid of. But, I had to have this color after I saw Christy’s post over at her blog, Confessions of a Serial DIY’er.

You have to go see this thing!
The color is called Mason Jar.
Lastly, I was wondering through Walmart and found this:
At $5.97 I had to get it.
It is sweet Spring green. I can’t wait to slap a little on something!
Alas, I do not have anything suitable. But, Big Daddy is gone next weekend. What’s that they day about cats and mice?
I’m pretty sure it applies to Big Daddies & little Ding Bats also!
I’ll keep in touch.

I read a long time ago in a decluttering tips book to ACT LIKE YOU ARE MOVING. I have tried that, but since I'm not, it hasn't worked so far for me. Sounds like it can work, right? Love your projects & your kitty which looks exactly like 1 of mine.

One major upside to a husband that was in the military is that you don't have a chance to accumulate too much stuff with the frequent moves. I couple months ago I bought some wooden chairs at a yard sale and used Milk Paint on them. I was also very afraid but they turned out great!
