Monday was a great day for a girl who loves junk. You know, the kind of day when you are hitting on ALL cylinders. Like when you go clothes shopping and EVERYTHING fits. Well yesterday everything fit AND it was on SALE . . .
So to speak.
It all started with an early morning Craig’s List email about a piece I had posted for sale over two weeks ago. After a really short email exchange that piece was sold! Good start to any Junkchick’s day.
Then I spotted the next thing, also on Craig’s List.
I have a gorgeous antique Empire walnut library table in my living room that I love. I have had it about 22 years. I got it at an auction one Saturday night in Canton, NC (My home town).
To date it is probably my single greatest score. I think I paid less than $20 for it and it is worth SEVERAL hundred. So image my surprise as I am flipping through CL and see ANOTHER one . . . For (wait for it) $10!
Now, I email on CL. I never call the seller. I dialed that seller’s number so fast it would make your head spin.
So as I am talking to her (very nice lady named Shea) she mentioned that she has multiple things for sale on CL, ALL furniture! I had to collect myself.
Long story short, I made out like a little junk bandit! If I had to guess, I would say I walked into a foreclosure situation. It appeared to me that the stuff had been just abandoned there.
So here is what else I left with:
At an astronomically reasonable price. It is a newer piece and it is solid as a rock.
I make the whole thing sound sooo easy, huh? I actually had to call my neighbors to beg for the use of their pickup. This would never fit in my Jeep!
As we were just about to pull out of Shea’s driveway she says, “Oh! Wait! You forgot your mirror!”
My what?? I did not realize the dresser even had a mirror.
And what a mirror it is!
The wrought iron detail is TO DIE FOR!
So for the past two days I have been setting up my May Market booth in my crazy little head. Oh, what fun!
And by the way, I conned Big Daddy into moving the little French desk out of the garage and in to the kitchen last night, right about my bed time.
Now THAT dance begins!

Great finds! I did a little empire table exactly like yours a few years ago! It is such a great find and so is the dresser. BTW, love your rooster!
