Out back of a Thrift Store in South Asheville is what they consider their junk pile. This is stuff that apparently they can’t even sell in the bargain bin. I drive around there frequently just in case the Mona Lisa or something might be prompted up against the three legged tables and cribs that have definately seen better days. And I have never found a thing . . . Until last week.
Once again, it had me at the legs!
So I hung out in my Jeep till somebody stuck their head out the back door and then I asked him what he would take for the thing. I drove out of that parking lot with a big smile. $1!!
The hardest part was prying all the tacks out.
I usually go straight to a light color of paint on any dark wood so I had pretty much settled on Old White before I left the parking lot. Fabric was MUCH more difficult. I picked through my fabric stash and layed out a Waverly red toile but I just wasn’t on love with it.
So I waited .
I knew I was going to need a small piece of foam to replace the old so I stopped by my neighborhood fabric store to get it. Just so happens, I had to pass directly by the remnant table and THIS grabbed me by the arm.
OH. MY. LAWD.
It’s one of those things I wish I had never seen.
Because it makes me want to recover everything in my house in it! It’s a P. Kaufman fabric which I love anyway but the colors are just lovely ! It’s called Sea Glass. This piece was 7/8 of a yard, for $2! So when all is said and done I should have just enough left over for a small pillow.
Just a little something I was playing around with
So thanks to my new power staple gun Santa Claus brought me for Christmas this is how it turned out:
And I am thrilled!
Let’s hope someone at this weekend’s Savvy Restyle Market will think so too.
(Doing the Snoopy Dance!)
Have a great weekend,
Paige

Very pretty! That fabric is the colors of my woman cave! I'll have to look in the remnant pile at my local stores.
