We have had a big ice storm here in Asheville NC. Our usual 25 minute commute took us over an hour and a half to get home last evening! We love snow, but ice?? Not so much.
Neither of us had to be at work today due to weather, so I took advantage of a ‘free’ day and worked on a furniture project.
I braved the brutally cold garage and dragged this inside the house:
This is one of my MANY Salvation Army finds. For $10. And I felt like I was over spending at the time. You never can tell.
Since I was iced in, I had to use what I had on hand, paint wise. In my Box Of Tricks I had three quart-sized cans of chalk paint but I really wasn’t feeling any of those colors. Then there were the little bits I had left over from various other projects . . . So I took a chance. I had bits of three different grays so I combined them. I didn’t feel like I had a thing to lose since there wasn’t enough of any one of them to finish any project I could think of. OK, maybe a small picture frame.
So this is what I ended up with:

Very pretty and looks ever so much better. I have a table similar to this that I'm now inspired to paint!
