Last night was a BIG night for 2junkchicks. It was also a big night for Paige. We joined an amazing group of people at a Makers Event in Greer South Carolina. The Markers Movement seems to be sweeping the country, and most likely the world. And now it is creeping into our neck of the woods.
This particular event centered around a monthly gathering known as Savvy Restyle Market. It’s a multivendor, Etsy esque market that has been held in and around the Greer-Greenville-Taylors area. It is the brainchild of a lovely lady named Heidi Henry and it is amazing! She has managed to corral a bunch of handcrafters, the likes of which I have NEVER seen.
I was as nervous as a cat walking in the door! Then we were greeted at the registration table by the beautiful, smiling face of one of the speakers & other attendees EMMEDIATELY began to introduce themselves. What a wonderful & truly genuine bunch of people!
There were over 80 people in attendance. I looked around and instantly knew we were in the middle of something special. And I was correct.
So, it appears that the Junkchicks will be taking their act on the road. Or, at least be able to. They accepted up, with wide open arms & we are so grateful. I am grateful. One of the speakers was reflecting on her experience as a first- time vender at the monthly market and said, ‘This is it! I have found my People. I have found My Tribe!”
And maybe I have also.
On a side note, there are LOTS of junk shops between Asheville & Greer.

The weather this weekend is forecasted to be cold, windy and snowy. To me, it’s perfect. A good weekend to spread out an old sheet and paint . . . In my kitchen floor!!!
