This post’s original title was
“Things Paige Does When Big Daddy’s Away No. 216”
He would have lost his mind and his temper with me because I did every bit of my last post/project and this one on Football Sunday as we lovingly refer to it at our house. Believe me when I say we were both glad for the break :)))
I found this HUGE tray on clearance at Michaels craft store for $14.
I was part of the Fall decor that was a whopping 70% off. It had two hangers on the back so I don’t think by any stretch of the imagination it was meant to be anything but decorative.
The metal part looks just like an old tin ceiling tile.
That caught my eye right off the bat but it took me a few days to figure out how I wanted to use it. If you have read this blog for long you have seen this faux boxwood wreath before. I found it at a church yard sale a couple of years ago for a buck. The piece of masking tape wth the price written on it in black sharpie is still on the back. So in keeping with my “Im lazy and still in my feety pajamas and do not want to leave my house but still want to decorate it” mode, my crazy little head began to churn with thoughts of how to adhere that fake wreath to that tin tray.
I dug in my closet for about half an hour looking for my Christmas Ribbon Hoard before it dawned on my that I actually new where my upholstery webbing was. I had eyed wreaths on Pinterest before that were hung with the webbing and I had actually bought some of the stuff for that specific thing …….. but I had never actually done it.
Well…………
I just duck taped the webbing to the back of the tray and draped the wreath down the front of the tray.
So far its held up :)))
I do like the contrast of the wooden handles but I think I might stain them darker though.
Speaking of texture my little grapevine cone trees look nice flanking the wreath 🙂
I found them at Hobby Lobby for $7.99 and then I used a 40% off coupon.
And so begins the Christmas Mania at the Davis House…….

I love the tray and yes, I think darker handles would look good–more like the tray was “finished” or something.
The faux wreath is just the right finishing touch. Nice job.
